FAQ (Trademarks)
How does a trademark registration help me deal with flies?
If you have a trademark registration, you have options. First, the flies are much more likely to respond favorably to a cease and desist letter that is backed by federal trademark registration. Second, if the flies are using a domain name that includes your trademark to misdirect your website traffic, we can seek to have the domain name transferred to you using the ICANN domain dispute process. Third, we can take action to prevent the importation of infringing or counterfeit goods by recording your trademark registration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Fourth, we can use your registration to encourage website hosts and internet service providers to remove online content that utilizes you trademark without your permission. Finally, we can use the registration to obtain protections from online retailers (like Amazon) by registering with their brand registry services.
Ok, it looks like a trademark registration is the way to go. What does it cost to file the application?
We charge $1,150.00 to prepare and file a trademark application with the U.S. Trademark Office in one international class. This does not include the filing fee that must be paid to the U.S. Trademark Office, which is currently $350.00 for a TEAS Standard application.
