I’m an engineer that “turned to the dark side” and became a lawyer.
I was working as an intern at Lockheed Engineering & Sciences Company at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The highly confidential nature of my work required me to use a secure workspace…often apart from the company of others.
I loved the high tech work, but longed for more personal interaction. Did I mention that my workspace was in the basement of the building with no windows and a pad-locked door that required a security code to enter?
You see my dilemma…how to work in technology without sacrificing my desire to work with others.
The answer was a career in technology law, often referred to as Intellectual Property (IP).
Four years later, I graduated from Law School (magna cum laude) and passed the Texas bar exam and the patent bar exam.
I spent the next 10 years at large, prestigious law firms (Vinson & Elkins and Jackson Walker) learning the ins and outs of providing intellectual property counseling to high profile clients, mostly Fortune 500 companies.
The Ruble Law Firm, P.C. was formed out of a desire to provide legal advice to clients of all sizes in a more personable way. Our goal is to provide our clients with big firm experience but with the efficiency and personal touch of a small law firm.
